STARTUPS@REEPERBAHN – Version 6.0
September will be the hottest month for startups in Hamburg – for the sixth time. When five young, innovative companies from all over Europe present themselves on September 19th to over 450 investors, corporates, journalists and multipliers of the German digital and media industry at the Startups@Reeperbahn Pitch, then startup hearts are burning. The winning team of the evening wins the WELT Media Award – a media budget of 150,000 euros – and a trip to the coveted SXSW Festival 2019 in Austin, Texas.
The very special Reeperbahn atmosphere and the top-class audience offer the participants the opportunity for networking as it is offered nowhere else. A top-class board of curators will select the five finalists who will live out their rock star genes on the stage of the Gruenspan in the evening. During the day, the Startupstage will take place for the first time, at which startups can present themselves to interested investors in various categories. Of course, the legendary love mobiles will not be missing either, which are the scene of surprising encounters between startups and exciting mentors from the VC and startup world.
Get to know your investor for life at the aftershow
For the five finalists, an exclusive after-show event with over 80 financially strong investors will follow after their big performance. The guest list remains top secret, but a look at last year’s participants, among them illustrious names such as Dr. Brigitte Mohn, Dr. Jens Spudy, Dr. Wladimir Klitschko and Ralf Dümmel, gives us great expectations. It would not be the first time that a long-term and successful business relationship would develop there.
Apply until August 10th and secure your chance to win our Grand Jury for you with passion and good arguments, because Dr. Cornel Wisskirchen (Managing Director, Deutsche Bank), Scarlett Li (Vice President China Media Capital), Jan Nimtz (Managing Director Axel Springer Media for Equity GmbH), Jan-Menko Grummer (Partner EY), Dr. Rolf Strittmatter (CEO HIW Hamburg Invest) and Leah Hunter (Editor Fast Company& Forbes, Author) and others will decide who will receive the WELT Media Award.
